SELMA HIGH SCHOOL is located in the historic town center of Selma, Alabama.  The school anchors one end of the main street that starts at the Edmund Pettus Bridge and passes by storefronts dating from the turn of the 20th century.  Thus design consideration was taken to address the massing of the height and length of one city block.  Various colors of brick were used to provide an interesting elevation that makes the building appear to be several structures aligned along a city block.  The brick also blended with the historic buildings that line the main street of Selma. The brick used on this building are Full Range Sandface, Ole Virginian, Cottonwood and Brown Velour.
